NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The Carleton College men's swimming and diving team won 10 events during Saturday's dual meet with Macalester College, as the Knights pulled away for the 156-48 triumph.
"Today's meet was exactly what we were looking to have in terms of team energy, effort, and execution," said Carleton head coach
Andy Clark. "We are in our biggest block of training so far this season, and with fatigue levels high, we knew that race details and mentality would matter for the outcome of this meet to be in our favor. Macalester is a much improved program and they challenged our teams to perform. Our teams definitely delivered the type of intensity and competitive focus we were needing, and they delivered some outstanding efforts and results across all events."
The day began with a win in the 200-yard medley relay where
Carl Zhang (Jr./Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron),
Kevin Chen (Jr./Normal, Ill./Normal Community),
Ethan Tun (Fy./Potomac, Md./Landon), and
Josh Wu (So./Germantown, Wis./Germantown) combined on a time of 1:39.68. Zhang (200 IM in 2:04.68 and 100 back in 55.69), Tun (200 free in 1:48.76 and 100 fly in 53.99), and Wu (50 free in 21.71 and 100 free in 48.03) each won a pair of individual events.

Byron Jia (So./Minnetonka, Minn./Breck) contributed a narrow victory in the 500 freestyle (5:09.44).
