NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Knights put three runners inside the top-10, including
Kate Ulrich's (Fy./Waconia, Minn./Waconia) third-place result, but the Carleton College women's cross country team lost to rival St. Olaf College, 18-43, at the Great Karhu Shoe Race. This race is typically the final meet of the season for the runners from both schools that are not in contention to compete at the upcoming NCAA North Region Championships.
Ulrich covered the 4- kilometer distance at Carleton's
Bill Huyck Championship Course in 15:35.5.
Caroline Loescher (Fy./Etna, N.H./Hanover) finished eighth overall at 16:08.9, while
Morgan Dieschbourg (Fy./Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) clocked a time of 16:17.8 to take ninth place.
Margo Lewis (Fy./Brookline, Mass./The Rivers School) and
Maggie Votruba (Fy./Phoenix, Ariz./North Canyon) were the 13th and 14th racers across the line as they registered times of 16:31.7 and 16:35.7, respectively.

Carleton, which is ranked No. 20 in the latest USTFCCCA national poll, now turns its full attention to the NCAA Regional Championships to be run next Saturday, Nov. 13 in Colfax, Wis.
