NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College men's swimming team won two events and turned in 11 more top-five results at the Cows, Colleges, and Contentment Classic, a four-team meet.
The swimming events were held at Northfield Middle School, while the diving competition was hosted at Carleton's Thorpe Pool. The Knights' coaching staff permitted team members to pick their own events at this meet. The four-team competition included Carleton, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, St. Olaf College, and St. Cloud State University, a NCAA Division II program that is receiving votes in the CSCAA's national top-25 poll.
Sean Smith (Fy./Mashpee, Mass./Mashpee) and
Josh Wu (So./Germantown, Wis./Germantown) captured first place in the 200-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle, respectively. Smith covered the distance in 2:05.32, while Wu touched the wall at 48.08.
Carleton entry in the 200-yard medley relay took second behind SCSU.
Carl Zhang (Jr./Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron),
Kevin Chen (Jr./Normal, Ill./Normal Community),
Ethan Tun (Fy./Potomac, Md./Landon), and Wu combined on a time of 1:38.95.
Collin Eldridge (Fy./Cameron Park, Calif./Union Mine) earned third place with a time of 2:10.56 in the 200-yard butterfly. Wu was third in the 100-yard butterfly, after reaching the wall in 53.94.
Tun clocked 4:25.07 to turn in a fourth-place result in the 400-yard IM
Chen,
Byron Jia (So./Minnetonka, Minn./Breck), and
Aaron Bronstone (So./Truckee, Calif./Truckee) finished 3-4-5 in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:22.40, 2:22.60, and 2:27.93.
Other fifth-place results include:

Sam Glaubitz (So./Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) at 55.93 in the 100-yard butterfly.
• Chen with a time of 1:02.58in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Morgann Rene (So./Singapore, Singapore/United World College Of Southeast Asia) clocked 22.70 in the 50-ayrd freestyle.
• Zhang registered a time of 2:03.64 in the 200-yard backstroke.
