FARMINGTON, Minn. - Senior Carleton women's soccer defender Maya Lacey earned the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Defensive Player of the Week award, the first of her Knights career.

Lacey played all 180 minutes on the defensive line to help the Knights earn a pair of conference shutouts last week. The center-back anchored a backline that permitted only two shots in a 4-0 win at St. Scholastica on 9/16 before stifling defending MIAC regular-season champion St. Catherine on 9/19, holding the Wildcats to six shots overall and only two on goal in a 2-0 win. Lacey and her teammates have authored four straight shutouts, a scoreless streak of 373 minutes dating back to Sept. 5.

Carleton women's soccer travels to Concordia College-Moorhead for its next game, meeting the Cobbers on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
