NORTHFIELD, Minn. - After playing one half of soccer at Bell Field, the Carleton College women's soccer team had its game against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville halted and ultimately declared a no contest due to lightning in the area. The game will not be made up.

Each team took two shots in a taut first half, but just three minutes after the halftime whistle blew, lightning struck in the area and both teams were told to vacate the field. After approximately an hour of delay, the decision was made to cancel the game. The non-conference contest will not be resumed. None of the accumulated stats from the half that was played will be counted.

Carleton concludes its regular-season schedule with a Saturday, Oct. 31 meeting with Gustavus Adolphus College. The Senior Day kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
