Knights win 10 times during Senior Night dual with Gustavus Adolphus

NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The Carleton College women's swimming & diving team won 10 of the 16 events but could not overcome the depth on the Gustavus Adolphus roster and lost by a score of 159-140.

It was Senior Night at Thorpe Pool, and prior to the competition, the Knights celebrated the seven members of the Class of 2026: Stephanie Baranov, Elanor Hebard, Zoe Morton, Aviva Sachs, Lola Taraday, Alison Trackman, and Lily Wong.

"Congratulations to our senior class," said Carleton head coach Andy Clark. "It has been an amazing four years working with all of them, and we are grateful for the leadership and dedication that they have each given to the program. They are truly a special group, and we will miss them next year."

Once racing began, first-year Julia Michalski led the way for the Knights, claiming three individual titles and contributing to a relay victory.

The Knights started the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as Michalski combined with Grace Hou, Emma Yao, and Daya Tucker to post a time of 1:49.47.

Michalski touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.84 and followed it up soon after with a victory in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 54.40. She capped her evening with a four-second triumph in the 200-yard IM (2:16.00).

Morton was first to the wall in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.71).

The Knights showed depth in the breaststroke events. Yao won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.78, while teammate Bryn Ashland took first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:31.86.

Senior Lily Wong rounded out the individual swimming victories by taking the 200-yard backstroke in 2:16.40.
