BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Carleton College center back
Zaraya Jordan was selected as the MIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 1-7. This is her first conference weekly award. Jordan anchored a Carleton backline that helped the Knights register two shutouts last week against a pair of previously undefeated squads.
Her play helped keep Hope College, which entered the contest averaging 3.0 goals per game this fall, off the scoreboard on Sept. 5. Two days later, Jordan was key in disrupting the attack for Simpson College, a program that received votes in the preseason United Soccer Coaches Top-25 poll. That afternoon, the Knights limited the Storm — who averaged 15.7 shots per game entering Sunday's matchup — to only three shots and only one shot on goal.
Carleton returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 13 when the Knights host No. 9 Loras College at 1:00 p.m.
