ST. PAUL, Minn. – The No. 21-ranked Carleton College women's cross country team had five of the top-six finishers, including individual winner
Hannah Preisser, to cruise to the team title at the Hamline Invitational on Friday night.
The Knights, racing the six-kilometer distance for the first time this season, finished with a team score of 19, easily out-distancing runner-up Macalester College (68) in the eight-team competition.
Making her season debut, Preisser won by more than 25 seconds as the All-American crossed the line at 21:40.9.
A trio of rookies were next to finish for Carleton.
Claire Vukovics (22:09.3),
Lauren Tittel (22:21.9), and
Amelia Campbell (22:28.4) placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
Aliya Larsen was next across the line for the Knights, taking sixth at 22:28.4 to round out the scoring.
First-years
Louise Ruzanic and
Shemsy Lewis-Mussa served as Carleton's sixth and seventh runners this time, finishing 15th (23:38.5) and 22nd (24:11.8).
