INDIANAPOLIS — On Sunday, the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Committee announced the participants for the 2025 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. Both Carleton College programs will be represented at Nationals again this fall.
On the men's side,
Gabe Nichols received an individual qualifying spot, while the No. 11-ranked women's team is 1 of 22 programs to get an at-large bid.
The NCAA Championships will be contested at the at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Saturday Nov. 22. The men's race will begin at 10 a.m. ET / 9 a.m. CT, followed by the women's race at 11 a.m. ET / 10 a.m. CT.
A total of 32 teams were selected to participate in each championship, with automatic bids handed out to the winners of the 10 regional championships plus 22 at-large selections. Additionally, the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team are selected to participate at Nationals.
Nichols finished 20th at the NCAA North Region Championships but moved into an individual qualifying spots after the region received multiple at-large picks. This will be Nichols' third consecutive trip to the NCAA Cross Country Championships. He was 105th a member of the Knights' team qualifier in 2023 and placed 125th an individual qualifier in 2024.
On the women's side, the Knights finished second as a team at the North Region Championships as all five scorers —
Hannah Preisser (1st),
Claire Vukovics (5th),
Aliya Larsen (12th),
Lauren Tittel (18th), and
Amelia Campbell (35th) — all earned All-Region status. Carleton was 1 of 3 programs from the region to collect.
This will be the 14th consecutive bid to Nationals for the Knight women, and their 20th trip of the last 24 NCAA Championships. Carleton won the 2023 title and placed 18th in 2024.
