Ben Pennell was selected as the MIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is his second career conference weekly award.
The senior forward scored four goals — including two game winners — and added an assist as the Knights went 2-0-1 on the week. He converted a penalty kick for the game's lone goal in a 1-0 win at UC-Santa Cruz on Oct 4 before tallying the second hat trick of his collegiate career the following day in a win over Lincoln University (Calif.). Pennell added an assist in the Oct. 5 contest as well, giving him a career-best 7 points on the day. He now has 11 goals, tying him for first among MIAC players this season.
Pennell and the Knights are next in action for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at No. 24 Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, Oct. 11.
