NEW ORLEANS – Four members of the Carleton College women's indoor track & field program secured a total of five All-Region awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). They received these honors after ranking within the North Region's top-5 in their respective events during the regular season.
Mary Blanchard took home recognition for ranking fourth in the 800-meter run (2:12.26), while
Helen Cross (9:43.85) and
Phoebe Ward (9:50.15) were third and fourth, respectively, at the 3,000-meter distance. Ward (17:03.74) and
Sophie McManus (17:04.74) ranked third and fourth for the 5,000-meter run. Not surprisingly, all four Knights are headed to the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 8-9 in Virginia Beach.
Cross has now earned three total All-Region awards for indoor track & field after collecting accolades for the 3,000 and 5,000-meter distances in 2023.
