MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. -- No. 18-ranked Carleton College slipped three spots during the second round of the Golfweek October Classic and now sits in a tie for sixth place out of 24 teams.
 
The Knights followed up a stellar opening-round 294 with a score of 313 on Monday and are now deadlocked with No. 14 Washington & Lee University (320-305) with a team score of 607.
 
No. 2 Emory University leads the tournament with a 36-hole score of 576, while No. 7 Washington University-St Louis is second at 584, and top-ranked Carnegie Mellon sits third at 585. No. 6 Williams College (597) holds a one-shot advantage over No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer for fourth place.
 
In addition to those seven squads, the field includes eight other top-25 ranked programs in addition to five other teams that are receiving votes in the latest WGCA national poll.
 
Monday's round saw Carter Sichol collect three of Carleton's six birdies on the day as she carded a 2-over par 74. That puts her into a tie for seventh in the 124-player field with a two-day total of 146 (+2, 72-74).
 
Sarah Zheng and Natalie Tatar turned in matching 79s during the second round. The former had two birdies on the day and is tied for 49th place overall (+10, 75-79=154), while the latter sits in a tie for 79th place (+16, 81-79=160).
 
Cynthia Lu turned in an 81 (+9) on Monday and is tied for 32nd overall at +8 (71-81=152). Anna Lee posted a second-round score of 83 and is tied for 75th place at 15-over par (76-83=159).

The final round of the tournament will see Carleton once again play alongside Emory, WashU, and Carnegie Mellon in the second round with tee times that begin at 9:20 a.m. EDT/8:20 a.m. CDT on Monday.
