Knights finish 18th at Golfweek Fall Invitational, Yuan cracks top 20

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — The Carleton women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2026 Golfweek Fall Invitational on Tuesday, firing a final-round 332 (+44) to place 18th in a competitive 24-team national field at Sandestin Resort and Club. The Knights compiled a 54-hole score of 987 (334-321-332).

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor captured the team title with a dominant performance, finishing at 25-over-par 889 (301-298-290) to secure a 30-stroke victory over runner-up Macalester College (+55, 919). UC Santa Cruz placed third at +57 (921), followed by Illinois Wesleyan University (+69, 933) in fourth and Sewanee (+70, 934) in fifth.

Carleton finished five strokes ahead of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) rival Gustavus Adolphus College (+104, 992) while placing just behind 17th-place Berry College (+122, 986). Yvette Gorden of Huntingdon College claimed individual medalist honors at 3-over-par 216 (73-73-70).

First-year Cindy Yuan led the way for the Knights with a stellar final-round performance. The Danville, Calif., native carded a one-over-par 73—Carleton's lowest round of the tournament—to jump 13 spots into 18th place on the individual leaderboard. Four birdies, two on both the front and the back nine highlighted the Yuan's final round. She finished the 54-hole event at 16-over-par 232 (79-80-73).

Junior Anna Lee posted a final-round 76 (+4) to finish tied for 38th place overall with a score of 22-over-par 238 (81-81-76). Like Yuan, Lee also recorded four birdies on the day and after teeing off on the 10th hole to open her loop, shot on even-par 36 on the back nine before turning in a four-over 40 on the front.

First-year Angela Yu followed up her collegiate career-best round (76) on Monday with a 77 (+5) on Tuesday, highlighted by a pair of birdies. The steady round placed her in a tie for 42nd at 23-over-par 239 (86-76-77). Senior Charlotte Darras rounded out the team scoring with a round of 106 to finish 119th at 324 (106-112-106), while first-year Sarah Han did not compete on Tuesday, but finished 120th overall.
