ARDEN HILLS, Minn. –
Grace Blanchette (Sr./Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) and
Hannah Preisser (Fy./Chapel Hill, N.C./Carrboro) won events as the Carleton College women's track & field team took part in the Bethel Invitational.
"It was a challenging day at the track with cold and rain," said Carleton head coach
Donna Ricks. "This team kept a positive attitude and did a great job competing, I am very proud of their efforts today."
Blanchette was fourth (15.78) during the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles but was first across the line during the finals (15.90). She later added fifth-place results in both the javelin (31.20 meters) and long jump (4.95 meters).
Preisser dominated the 24-racer field in the 5,000-meter run, posting a facility-record time of 17:21.94, good for more than 32-second margin of victory.
The Knights had five other top-5 results:

Sophie McManus (So./McCall, Idaho/McCall-Donnelly) placed fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a 42-second personal-best time of 11:17.82. Of the three runners to finish ahead of her, two of them are from NCAA Division I schools.
• In the 4x100-meter relay,
Riley Roberts (Jr./Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South),
Jocelyn Ferguson (So./Minneapolis, Minn./Minneapolis South), Blanchette, and
Hadley Twichell (Fy./Redwood City, Calif./Sacred Heart Prep) combined on a time of 50.75, good for third place.

Libby Rowland (So./Tulsa, Okla./Holland Hall) took fifth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:57.35. Three of the top-4 finishers in this race came from D-I programs.

Mary Blanchard (Jr./Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) set a personal-best while placing fifth in the 800-meter run. She crossed the line at 2:19.83. Two of the four runners ahead of her were from the University of Minnesota (D-I).
• Carleton was the runner-up in the 4x400-meter relay. Blanchard, Ferguson,
Lara Erickson (So./Columbia Falls, Mont./Columbia Falls), and
Hadley Twichell (Fy./Redwood City, Calif./Sacred Heart Prep) combined on a time of 4:06.91.
