STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Carleton College volleyball team closed its time at the Pointers Invitational with a 3-1 victory over Beloit College.
Annelise Sokolow (So./Draper, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) tallied a match-high 15 kills, while
Inger Shelton (Sr./San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) doled out 36 more assists and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Jacki Smith. "We've been working through a lot as a team, and I'm really proud of us for being resilient and positive over the last few matches. It's always a fun game when everyone gets a chance to play and contribute on the court. Shout out to our sidelines, who are always giving great energy to our team."
The Knights (3-6) hit .209 in the match and accumulated 10 aces en route to the 28-26, 25-22, 19-25, 25-16 result.
In the opener, Carleton let an early seven-point lead evaporate but then fought off match point and captured the set 28-26 behind two kills by Sokolow sandwiched around a kill for Shelton.
The Knights trailed 20-19 in game two before the Knights engineered a 6-2 rally to claim the set. Carleton registered crucial points via a
Grace Perret (Fy./Green Bay, Wis./Preble) ace and a clutch kill for
Naiya Karl (Jr./Fargo, N.D./Fargo South).
The Buccaneers used a late 6-0 spurt to take game three 25-19 and stay alive in the match, but the Knights bounced back in the final set. The score was tied 5-5 before Carleton put together an 8-1 run to take the lead for good. In addition to her 15 kills, Sokolow was credited with five aces, seven digs and two blocks. Perret was second on the squad with nine kills and added eight digs.
