MY OFF-CAMPUS STUDY PROGRAM ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
I learned a lot about soccer and professional sports in general. There are so many other aspects of pro sports other than just playing including the statistics, the partnerships with brands, all the funding, and the tactical management of teams. The program made me appreciate the business side of sports and how greatly sports contribute to peoples' lives.
 
INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
At CodeSignal I worked with marketing staff and learned more about how their startup was run, At the George Mason School of Business I worked with the Business for a Better World Center on different projects including beginning a two year program for incoming Mason students interested in business. At Students for Chris I volunteered for the Senator's reelection campaign, called constituents to help them with voting and any other questions they had. At Concord I was an extern for three weeks, participated in meetings, completed self-led projects, compiled summary document including independent research. And at The Technology Policy Institute I am a software engineering intern helping develop some new tools for data analysis.

These opportunities helped me gain work experience and spend time in a professional environment. I learned about entirely different fields and honed my skills as a student and future employee. The later experiences taught me skills as a computer scientist, gave me more confidence in my abilities, and I learned more about what I want out of my career in the future.
