INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Duke School of Medicine. Through my research opportunity in the Immunology/Hematology department at Duke School of Medicine, I participated in designing a protocol to detect complement activation in ITP patient plasma through running and analyzing results of ELISA and Flow Cytometry experiments. Additionally, I learned blood separation techniques, platelet isolation techniques and cell culturing.
MY INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
I was able to utilize the trimester system to take winter term off to explore this research opportunity. During my time off, I was able to gather knowledge that has helped me in many of my classes since.
