NORTHFIELD, Minn.–
Ineke Cordova (Jr./Denver, Colo./Denver Christian) and
Riley Roberts (Fy./Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington) led the way for the Carleton College women's track & field team at the St. Olaf Ole Open, with each earning a pair of second-place finishes. This was the final tune up before next week's MIAC Outdoor Championships
The Knights sent a small contingent to the met and finished with a total of 42 points—ranking seventh out of seven teams—after registering six top-five placements, including two new personal records.
Roberts and Cordova put in a pair of impressive performances, both together and individually. The two, along with
Maggy Osha (Sr./Oakland, Calif./The Athenian School) and
Eva Airoldi (Jr./Bellingham, Wash./Sehome), began the day with a second-place, 51.38-second finish in the 4x100-meter relay.
Roberts would go on the earn silver in 100-meter dash, with her time of 13.45 only 0.16 off of the winning pace.
Cordova finished as the runner-up in the 400-meter dash, completing the event in a new personal-best time of 1:01.21. Shortly after Cordova crossed the finish line,
Amy Kropp (Jr./Logan, Utah/Logan) followed suit, also setting a new personal record as she finished fourth with a 1:02.83 pace.
On the field, the Knights' best finishes belonged to
Sydney Marsh (Jr./Austin, Minn./Austin) and
Neenah Bosman (Fy./Hugo, Minn./White Bear Lake).
Just a day after finishing second in the MIAC heptathlon, Marsh earned second place in the pole vault with a height of 3.22 meters. Bosman continued to impress in the hammer throw, as she earned fifth place with a 27.07 meter toss.

The Knights will compete at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 14-15. This year's host is Hamline University.
