LA CROSSE, Wis. – Carleton College junior
Gabrielle Evans (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) competed at the NCAA Final Qualifier hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
The Knights' school-record holder in the pole vault took part in this meet, which is one of a handful of "last chance" opportunities held this week to give student-athletes a final opportunity to improve their standing on the national leaderboard. For women's track & field, the top 19 declared student-athletes will be in line for a bid to Nationals.
Evans cleared the bar at 3.26 meters, a height she had surpassed at each of her last two meets. She measured a season best 3.43 meters at last weekend's MIAC Championships.
Two of Evans' teammates are still in contention for bids to the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Clara Mayfield (So./Manhattan, Kan./Manhattan) is currently ranked No. 5 in the 10,000-meter run and No. 12 at the 5,000-meter distance.
Amanda Mosborg (Sr./Bloomington, Minn./Edina) is sitting at No. 16 on the national list for the 5,000-meter run.
