NORTHFIELD, Minn. –
Amy Kropp (Jr./Logan, Utah/Logan) picked up two victories, and three members of the Carleton College women's track and field team set personal best times at the Carleton Relays. The Knights won a total of four events on the day.
"As well as our team competed today, it was just our second meet back in competition and the first time on our new home track surface," said Carleton assistant coach
Laura Albares. "I think we are just pumped because we are starting to see glimpses of the possibilities of what we can achieve by the end of the season."
Kropp bested her personal record in the 400-meter dash, with her 1:03.12 finish taking first place. She was followed closely behind by teammate
Sadie Ray Smith (So./San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding), who placed second while also establishing a personal best time of 1:05.54.
Kropp and Smith later teamed up with
Ellie Zimmerman (Sr./Chevy Chase, Md./Sidwell Friends) and
Mary Blanchard (Fy./Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) to win the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:18.11s.
Carleton's other victories came via the 1500-meter run, which was won by
Clara Mayfield (So./Manhattan, Kan./Manhattan) with a personal-best 4:45.17 finish, and the hammer throw, in which
Neenah Bosman (Fy./Hugo, Minn./White Bear Lake) emerged victorious with a 32.88-meter toss.
Other top performances for the Knights:

Grace Blanchette (So./Honolulu , Hawaii/Punahou) turned in second-place finishes in the javelin throw (30.50m) and the 100-meter hurdles (16.14)

Alice Cutter (Fy./New York, N.Y./Poly Prep Day School) was runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles (1:17.13).

Riley Roberts (Fy./Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington) placed third in both the 100-meter (13.25) and 200-meter (27.46) sprints.

Phoebe Ward (Fy./Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./Dobbs Ferry) finished third in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:00.07.

Sydney Marsh (Jr./Austin, Minn./Austin) cleared 3.12 meters in the pole vault, good for third place.
