St. Joseph, Minn. – Carleton College ran its MIAC winning streak to six matches with a convincing 7-2 victory over host College of St. Benedict.

Carleton’s victory avenged last year’s regular-season upset loss to the Blazers, which occurred a year ago to the day, 5-4.

The Knights (9-3, 6-0 MIAC), again displaying doubles strength, swept the doubles matches. Carleton secured the victory after junior captain Diane Danforth and first-year player Abby Beggs made quick work of their opponents at third and second singles, respectively. The pair combined to drop only eight games between them. Sophomore Eryn Koch and rookie Christina Walker fully activated their groundstroke arsenal, posting straight-set victories at fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

The Knights return to MIAC action on Tuesday, April 13, traveling to the University of St. Thomas for a 4 p.m. match.
