Owatonna, Minn. - Eryn Koch posted victories at second doubles and third singles, leading Carleton past Nebraska Wesleyan, 7-2.
Koch teamed with Sarah Fischer for an 8-1 victory in doubles play as the Knights opened the match by winning two of the three doubles' points. She relied on a strong first and second serve to overwhelm Lauren Pfister 6-2, 6-1 in singles play.
The Prairie Wolves fielded an incomplete line-up, forfeiting points at third doubles and sixth singles to the Knights.
First-year players Christina Walker and Golnaz Vayghan were also triumphant in singles' action. Walker posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at fourth singles and Vayghan was a 6-4, 6-3 victor at fifth singles. Abby Beggs, also a first-year player, notched a 6-2, 6-1 decision at second singles.
Carleton returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 22, facing Concordia-Moorhead in the MIAC opener for the Knights.
