Owatonna, Minn. – The Carleton College women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches en route to a 7-2 victory over the College of St. Catherine in the Knights' final match before spring break.
The Knights (6-0, 5-0 MIAC) posted decisive singles victories at second through fifth positions. Abby Beggs, Eryn Koch and Christina Walker were offensive forces to be reckoned with, dropping a combined six games at second, third, and fourth singles, respectively.
Shelley Getzendanner patiently crafted points, winning at fifth singles in straight sets.
Carleton started the match by winning all three doubles matches, moving its team doubles record to 17-1.
The Knights return to match play over spring break, March 18-26 at Hilton Head Island. They square off against University of Chicago, Hope, Kalamazoo, and UW-Whitewater in important regional contests during the trip.
