FARGO, N.D. – Madeline Prins (Jr./Pacific Palisades, Calif./Palisades Charter) was one of four Knights to be victorious in both singles and doubles as the Carleton College women’s tennis team opened the MIAC schedule with a 9-0 victory at Concordia College-Moorhead.

Prins and playing partner Taylor Thulson (Fy./Louisville, Colo./Niwot) posted an 8-3 win atop the doubles lineup to give the Knights (2-1, 1-0 MIAC) the early lead.

Kristina Conrad (Sr./Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) and Jeanny Zhang (Fy./Guangzhou, China/Dwight School) along with Elizabeth Yim (So./Orange, Calif./Villa Park) and Yelena Hallman (Fy./Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) notched 8-2 doubles triumphs.

Upon moving to singles, Hallman swept her fifth singles match at 6-0, 6-0 before Molly Smith (So./Northfield, Minn./Northfield) clinched the team result with her 6-3, 6-3 result at the sixth slot.

Prins, Conrad, and Sonya Romanenko (Fy./San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) each dropped only one game in their singles wins, and Thulson completed the team sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 result at the fourth spot.

Carleton’s next match will take the team to the opposite border of the Minnesota from this match when the Knights visit Saint Mary’s University on Sunday, Feb. 10.
