FARMINGTON, Minn. - Carleton men's golf senior Sam Higaki was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (MIAC) men's golf Athlete of the Week for the fifth time in his career after sharing medalist honors at the Saint John's Fall Invitational.

Last weekend at St. Cloud Country Club and Blackberry Ridge, Higaki shot an even-par 72 on a rainy Saturday to tie for fifth place, before going one-under-par with a 71 on Sunday to tie atop the Fall Invitational leaderboard with a tournament score of 143 (-1). Higaki was 1-under par on the par-3s and 3-under par on the par-5s throughout the tournament. He won the 2025 edition of the tournament as well. 

Men's golf continues to prepare for the MIAC Championships next weekend at the Twin Cities Classic, a 54-hole tournament held across three courses in Elk River, Le Sueur, and Bloomington, Minn.
