FARIBAULT, Minn. — The Carleton women's golf team completed play at the September Showdown on Sunday, posting a final-round score of 39-over-par 327 at Faribault Golf Course to finish sixth in the seven-team field. The Knights compiled a 36-hole total of 67-over-par 643 (316-327) across the two-day tournament.

Macalester College staged a second-round comeback to win the team title at 19-over-par 595 (301-294), edging out round-one leader St. Catherine University (+20, 596) by a single stroke. Bethel University finished third at +43 (619), followed by St. Olaf College (+57, 633) in fourth and the College of Saint Benedict (+64, 640) in fifth, three shots ahead of Carleton.

First-year Cindy Yuan capped a stellar tournament run by earning a spot just shy of the top of the individual leaderboard, tying for second place overall with a 36-hole total of 1-over-par 145 (70-75). The Danville, Calif., native's three-over 75 was highlighted by an early birdie on the par-four second hole, along with a string of 10 straight pars. Yuan finished three strokes behind tournament medalist Marley Zhang of Macalester (-2, 142) and tied alongside round-one leader Caylin Cantwell of St. Catherine and Bethel's Sophie Brantner.

Junior Anna Lee wrapped up her tournament in a tie for 12th place individually, carding a second-round 81 (+9) to finish at 10-over-par 154 (73-81). First-year Angela Yu recorded a 10-over 82 on Sunday to place in a tie for 26th overall at 18-over-par 162 (80-82). Both Lee and Yu birdied the 135-yard par-three 10th to highlight their rounds.

Yu's classmate Sarah Han finished in 44th place with a tournament score of 38-over-par 182 (93-89), showing a four-stroke final-round improvement. Junior Charlotte Darras rounded out the lineup for the Knights in 45th place, finishing at 51-over-par 195 (95-100).

Up Next for the Knights
Carleton will cap off the fall portion of its schedule next weekend when the Knights compete in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships. The annual conference championships will be held over a three-day, three-round span beginning Friday and will be played at Braemar Golf Course in Edina, Minnesota.
