BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Following a three-victory performance, Carleton College sophomore
Akshay Garapati was chosen as the MIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for Feb. 2-8. This is his first career conference weekly award.
Garapati won a pair of matches at No. 1 doubles, teaming with
Jack Rivkin for a 6-4 victory against Carthage College this past Saturday morning, followed by a 6-2 triumph during the contest against Carroll University.
Garapati played twice at No. 1 singles as well, dropping a tight match against Carthage 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 before bouncing back with a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) victory versus Carroll.
Carleton next plays on Feb. 22 vs. Grinnell College.
