MINNEAPOLIS -- The Carleton College women's swimming & diving team is tied for third place after Day 1 of the MIAC Championships. The Knights' 200-yard medley relay broke the team record on the way to finishing second in the event.

Julia Michalski combined on a time of 1:45.61, bettering the previous program mark (1:46.59) that had stood since 2009 by nearly a full second.

The only other event women's event on the day's schedule was the 800-yard freestyle relay.

Bryn Ashland teamed up for a time of 7:59.06, good for fourth place and All-MIAC Honorable Mention

Up Next for the Knights
On Day 2 of the conference meet, Carleton will compete in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle, 400-yard medley relay, and 1-meter diving. Prelims begin at 10:30 a.m. with finals slated for a 6:30 p.m. start.
