ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College men's cross country team finished second of nine teams at the Hamline Invitational. The Knights finished with a team score of 54, trailing Macalester College (45 points) but nearly 20 points ahead of third-place Saint John's University (73 points).
Racing the eight-kilometer distance for the first time this season, seniors
Gabe Nichols and
Indy Lyness finished fifth and sixth, respectively, clocking times of 27:05.8 and 27:13.2.
Classmate
Roy Llewellyn led the next pack of Carleton runners, finishing 12th at 27:38.6. Close behind were rookies
Gus Schafer and
Dashiell Coyier, who posted times of 27:48.7 and 27:51.0, respectively, as they placed 15th and 16th to round out the Knights' scoring.
Sophomore
Kyle Thompson and senior
Andrew Jamison were next to finish for Carleton, taking 25th (28:12.0) and 29th (28:15.0) places, respectively.
