BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Carleton sophomore
Baiyun Jing has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week following a perfect 4-0 week last week for the Knights.
Jing went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 at No. 2 doubles as the Knights picked up a pair of victories to clinch the No. 2 seed in the MIAC Men's Tennis Playoffs. Jing picked up a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win atop the singles lineup against Hamline on 4/26 and followed that up with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Saint John's in the regular-season finale. He was also part of doubles wins against the Pipers (8-3) and Johnnies (8-2).
Jing improves his season total to 11-6 at the number one singles position and is now 13-5 in doubles.
The Knights host Bethel at Pat Lamb Tennis Courts in the semifinals of the MIAC Playoffs Thursday afternoon.
