How They Got Here
Carleton went 9-1-1 in conference play and earned a first-round bye. This is the Knights' 11th overall trip to the MIAC Playoffs and fourth consecutive. Carleton won the tourney in 2008 and 2009 and advanced to the championship game four other times, including 2022 and 2023. The Knights are 8-5-4 all time in the MIAC Playoffs (but lost 3 of the 4 penalty kick shootouts).
Meanwhile, St. Olaf was 8-1-2 in conference action to secure the No. 3 seed and defeated No. 6 seed Saint Mary's 1-0 in the quarterfinals on Monday. The Oles are in the MIAC Playoffs for the eighth time overall and second time in as many years. St. Olaf has never advanced to the championship match and is 2-6-1 all-time in the MIAC Playoffs (and lost a PK shootout).
Series History
All-time, Carleton is 31-22-8 versus St. Olaf, including a 1-1 tie when the two teams met in the conference opener back on Sept. 16. That was the third consecutive draw between the rivals. These programs have only met once before in the MIAC Playoffs, a 3-1 Carleton victory in the 2022 semifinals.
