DECORAH, Iowa — The Carleton College women's swimming and diving team collected an impressive 176–114 victory over Luther College on Saturday afternoon, highlighted by multiple event wins and a pair of strong relay performances.
The Knights opened the meet in style as the 200-yard medley relay of juniors
Grace Hou and
Emma Yao, along with first-years
Julia Michalski and
Maya Geddes won in 1:51.99. Carleton capped the meet with another relay victory, as Geddes, Yao, senior
Zoe Morton, and junior
Daya Tucker took first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.19).
Senior
Stephanie Baranov swept the distance freestyle events, cruising to wins in the 1000 (11:06.68) and 500 freestyle (5:27.15). Michalski also shined in multiple strokes, posting individual victories in the 100 backstroke (1:00.65) and 200 individual medley (2:13.82), while Yao added a win in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.63).
Other event winners for Carleton included sophomore
Lilly Soillis in the 200 backstroke (2:17.87) and junior
Bryn Ashland in the 200 breaststroke (2:37.05). Geddes delivered a standout rookie performance, finishing second in the 100 freestyle (56.41) and third in the 200 freestyle (2:07.07).
On the boards, sophomore
Nina Schwab swept the diving events, winning both the 1-meter (229.20) and 3-meter (229.45) competitions to add crucial points to Carleton's total.
Carleton dominated depth scoring throughout the meet, securing at least the top two spots in six individual events.

The Knights will look to build on their strong start when they head to St. Paul to take on Macalester College in a dual meet next Saturday.
