NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Eight members of the Carleton College football team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for 2024.

Jacob Ventura each picked up the award for the first time.
Each school can nominate a select number of student-athletes that meet the following criteria:
• at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
• compete in at least 90 percent of the institution's games or start at least 66 percent of the contests.
• at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
A committee of CSC members selected Curtis and Sugalski for advancement to the Academic All-America® ballot where first-, second-, and third-team honorees will be announced in late January following voting by CSC members.
Elliott started all 10 games this season on the Knights' offensive line helping Carleton rank third in the MIAC in passing (2643 yards), fewest sacks allowed (19), and third down conversions (41.4 percent). He was flagged for only one holding penalty on the team's 387 pass attempts this season.
Curtis earned All-MIAC honorable mention in 2024 for his play at quarterback. Despite missing time due to injury, he finished fourth in the MIAC with 2,322 passing yards and 22 touchdowns tosses. He had four games with at least 300 passing yards, including a pair of 400-yard contests. Curtis threw multiple touchdown passes in five games, including a MIAC record-tying seven scoring strikes in the win over Gustavus Adolphus. Curtis is now second in team history with 5,479 career passing yards and 54 career TD passes. He owns two of the top-three season passing yard totals in school history (also 2,702 yards in 2023) and is the school record holder with a 65.5 career completion percentage.
Storrs saw playing time at tight end in nine games, including seven starts. He finished fourth on the Knights with 137 receiving yards and was third among the regulars with 9.79 yards per reception.
Sugalski started all 10 games along the defensive line and received All-MIAC honorable mention in 2024. He collected 4.0 sacks this season, second on the Knights and 18th among MIAC players during the regular season. He had 7.5 tackles for loss, third-best on the roster and tied for 20th in the conference. Sugalski totaled 26.0 tackles on the season and blocked a field goal.
Nathan Streiff played all 10 games—including nine starts—at wide receiver. He finished third on the roster with 39 catches for 460 yards, and his seven touchdown receptions ranked second on the squad and tied for 10th in the MIAC during the regular season. He averaged 11.79 yards per reception, ranking 13th among MIAC players with more than 35 catches during the regular season.
Tusler appeared in all 10 games for the Knights, making four starts at defensive back. He figured in 27 tackles, including 18 solo stops. He notched his second career interception by picking off a pass against Minnesota-Morris and recovered a fumble at NCAA Playoffs participant Bethel University.
Linebackers Detmer and Ventura both appeared in all 10 games for Carleton. They tied for third on the roster with 55 tackles overall and tied for second with 37 solo stops. Detmer started each game, collecting 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and two interceptions. Ventura made five starts and finished with 5.0 tackles for loss and a sack.
Carleton finished the year with a 5-5 record, marking the fourth consecutive season with a win percentage of .500 or above.
