Declan Schwab, Jack Curtis, and Rye Storrs voted to D3football.com All-Region Teams

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Three members of the Carleton College football team were voted to the D3football.com All-Region 6 team for the first time in their respective careers. Offensive lineman Declan Schwab was a first-team pick, while quarterback Jack Curtis and wide receiver Rye Storrs were third-team selections.

D3football.com has recognized All-Region teams since 2005, and this is the fifth time that Carleton has had three or more honorees (see chart below). The Knights' three offensive selections are tied with NCAA Playoff qualifiers Chapman, UW-La Crosse, and UW-River Falls for the third-highest total in Region 6 this season, trailing only No. 4-ranked Bethel and No. 7 Saint John's.

The Knights now have 28 All-Region honorees all-time. Schwab joins Brad Eckelmann (2008 and 2009) and Ben Pham (2022) as the lone Carleton offensive linemen to collect All-Region accolades. Curtis and Shane Henfling (2008) are the only Knight quarterbacks recognized, and Storrs is the first Carleton player to be honored at wide receiver since Matt Frank (2006 and 2008).

After missing the second half of 2024 season due to knee injury, Schwab returned to start all 10 games this fall, the first nine at left guard before moving to left tackle for season finale due to an injury elsewhere on the O-line. He did not allow a sack this season despite playing against three top-15 teams (Bethel, Saint John's, and No. 11 UW-Whitewater). Schwab's pass protection helped the Knights average 350.8 passing yards/game in conference contests, second most among MIAC teams. Carleton was third in the conference behind Bethel and Saint John's for scoring (33.8 points per game), total offense (419.1 yards per game), third-down conversions (46.3 percent), and fourth-down conversions (52.2 percent). The Knights offense ranked second in MIAC for time of possession (31:09) in conference games.

Curtis was previously voted the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year and is a semifinalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, which is awarded annually to the most outstanding NCAA Division III football player. He finished the season 284-for-392 (72.45 percent completion rate) for 3,120 yards with 29 touchdown passes as he broke the Carleton single-season records for completions, completion percentage, and passing yards and had the second-highest passing touchdown total. He also broke the MIAC single-season record with 254 completions and tied MIAC record with seven 300-yard passing performances in conference play. His 2,918 passing yards in conference games are third-most ever by a MIAC passer during league play. He accomplished those feats despite undergoing biweekly chemotherapy throughout the season after being diagnosed with late-stage 2 "unfavorable" Hodgkin's lymphoma. Additionally, he missed most of 1.5 games due to multiple fractures in his throwing hand but returned to action for the season finale, throwing for 344 yards and three touchdowns against Concordia.

At the end of the regular season, Curtis was fourth in NCAA Division III with 28.40 completions per game, fifth in completion percentage, eighth in passing yards, ninth with 312.0 passing yards per game, 10th in passing TDs, and 11th in total offense with 316.5 yards/game. The only non-300 yard passing games of his season came against three teams currently inside D3football top 15 as he threw for 204 yards at UW-Whitewater (the most allowed by UWW to a non-NCAA Playoff team), 194 yards at Saint John's (the most allowed by SJU to a non-NCAA Playoff team), and 22 yards at Bethel (removed himself early due to hand injury).

While Storrs was voted to the All-MIAC First Team Offense as a tight end, D3football.com considered him a wide receiver but still found him worthy of the All-Region status. He smashed his previous career highs in every offensive category and finished the regular season with 65 catches for 725 yards and 8 touchdowns. His reception total was tied for 25th among all NCAA Division III players and second among D-III tight ends. The eight touchdown grabs tied Storrs for third among D-III tight ends and tied him for 10th in the region and t-64th in nation regardless of position. His yardage total also tied for third among D-III tight ends and ranked 14th in the region and 87th in the country regardless of position. Storrs set a single-game career high with 10 catches for 67 yards and a touchdown at No. 11 UW-Whitewater. He matched that reception total during the Homecoming Game versus Hamline, finishing the day with 140 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The D3football.com All-America Teams will be announced on Monday, Dec. 22.
