NORTHFIELD, Minn. –
Kierstyn Foley has been hired to fill the newly created Athletic Events Coordinator position for the Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation (PEAR) Department at Carleton College. She will also serve as the lead assistant coach with the Knights' softball program.
As the athletic events coordinator, Foley will work closely with the Carleton coaches and administrators in planning and executing game day operations. This includes the hiring, training, and supervising of student and staff event workers; organizing officials; and directing game managers for approximately 80 home athletic events.
Foley spent the previous two years as a graduate assistant softball coach at Edgewood College (Wis.) while completing her master's degree in organizational leadership and change. She also served as a student success advisor at Edgewood from January-July 2024.
Originally from California, Foley began her collegiate softball career as a catcher at Utah Valley University (NCAA D-I) before transferring to California State University, San Bernardino (NCAA D-II) in 2019. Her time playing for the Coyotes was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic that limited Foley to six games in 2020 and saw the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) cancel all sports through the end of the 2020-21 academic year. CSUSB returned to the field in 2022, and Foley played 17 games that spring and graduated with a degree in child development.
