Head coach Amy Erickson is the school’s all-time winningest softball coach and enters the 2025 season with 333 carer wins, more than four times the next closest total in program history. Under her leadership, Carleton recorded the first three 20-win seasons in school history and 15 of the top-18 victory totals in program annals.

Erickson was a four-year starter and two-time Academic All-American while she played third base at Moorhead State University (Minn.). She made three NAIA National Tournament appearances during her college career, receiving a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. After graduating in 1994, she coached high school softball and later served as an assistant coach at Michigan State University before coming to Carleton.

Erickson is a professor in Carleton’s physical education, athletics, and recreation department and began serving as the PEAR Department's Senior Women's Administrator in the summer of 2024. She and her husband, Tom, reside in Northfield with their children.

Kierstyn Foley joined the Knights staff in July 2024 and also serves as Athletic Events Coordinator.
 
Prior to coming to Northfield, Foley spent the previous two years as a graduate assistant softball coach at Edgewood College (Wis.) while completing her master's degree in organizational leadership and change. She also served as a student success advisor at Edgewood from January-July 2024. Originally from California, she began her collegiate softball career as a catcher at Utah Valley University (NCAA D-I) before transferring to California State University, San Bernardino (NCAA D-II) in 2019. She graduated from CSUSB in 2022 with a degree in child development.
 

Karen CraneAssistant Coach Karen Johnson

Karen Johnson came to the Knights prior to the 2013 season. She is an 2006 alum of the University of North Dakota, where she was a catcher and played first base. She graduated as the school's career leader in walks (59) and ranked third on UND's career home run list (11).

She previously served an assistant coach at Morrisville State College in New York from 2007-11, while coaching for Richfield Fastpitch in the summer.

Sam Kile joined the coaching staff prior to the 2020 season. She was a two-time All-MIAC selection during her time with the Knights. A career .275 hitter with nine home runs, Kile made her mark in the circle, where she went 12-8 as a senior with a 2.02 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 128.0 innings. She tossed 41 complete games in 52 career starts and owned a 32-28 career record with 7 saves, posting a 2.66 ERA with 332 strikeouts. She ranked second in recorded team history for career victories and ERA, while coming in fourth in innings pitched and strikeouts.
