MINNEAPOLIS – On Day 2 of the MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships, the Carleton College women turned in three all-conference performances as the Knights slipped one spot and now sit in fifth place midway through the meet.
The Knights' first points of the day came in the 500-yard freestyle.
Stephanie Baranov finsihed in eighth place with a time of 5:27.63.
Ava Shaker and
Caroline Crampton also aided in the scoring, coming in 14th and 15th place with times of 5:29.38 and 5:29.60, respectively.
Jenna Drummond qualified for the "A" final in the 200-yard individual medley and touched the wall in 2:12.79.to take seventh place.
Carleton had three individuals score in the 50-yard freestyle.
Zoe Morton took seventh place, completing the event in 24.63. In the "B" final, the duo of
Daya Tucker and
Eleanor Hebard finished in 12th and 13th place, respectively, with times of 24.83 and 24.88.
The Knights found success in the 1-meter diving, with
Brenna Russell earning third place, and with it All-MIAC status, after posting a NCAA Regionals qualifying score of 413.80. Teammate
Hailey Westrup placed fifth, slotting in with a final score of 398.65 as she took home all-conference honorable mention.
The session concluded with the 400-yard medley relay, Carleton's squad of
Grace Hou,
Emma Yao, Crampton, and Morton came in third with a time of 3:56.45. That placement gives the four Knights All-MIAC awards.
