MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – On the final day of competition at the First Chance Meet hosted by the University of Minnesota, the entrants for the Carleton College women's swimming & diving team posted season-bests in nearly all their events.
This unscored competition serves as the final meet of the season for the eight members of the roster that are not expected to compete at next week's MIAC Championships. Saturday's action included both a morning and an evening session.
Aviva Sachs got the Knights run of season-bests started when she finished the 400-yard IM at 5:09.67.
In the 200-yard freestyle,
Lola Taraday came in 20th place in the 33-person field with a time of 2:08.07.
Alison Trackman (2:08.48),
Ava Roh (2:09.63), and Sachs (2:12.65) also posted top times for the 2023-24 campaign.
Sammi Sheridan clocked in at 1:05.19 in the 100-yard backstroke, good for 14th place.
The 1650-yard freestyle saw both
Susannah Kalb-Bourke (21:26.33) and
Clara Fields (22:20.11) eclipse their seed times.
During the evening session, the 100-yard freestyle saw season bests from Sheridan (57.09), Trackman (58.95),
Jivana Nagpal (1:03.58), and Fields (1:06.02).
Taraday saw to a sixth-place result (2:21.34) in the 200-yard butterfly, more than eight seconds better than her previous tip time this season.
Ava Roh (2:36.02) and Kalb-Bourke (2:49.30) also registered season bests.

The MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships will be held Feb. 14-17 at the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
