Briggs Priem and Owen Flanagan voted to United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two members of the Carleton College men's soccer program were voted to the All-Region IX teams by the United Soccer Coaches. Junior midfielder Briggs Priem was a third-team pick, and senior midfielder Owen Flanagan was tabbed to the fourth team.

A total of 44 players were recognized across the region, with 11 tabbed for each the first, second, third, and fourth teams. Carleton was 1 of 10 programs to have multiple players earn spots on the All-Region IX squads.

The Knights have collected 42 All-Region awards in program history. This marks the 14th time over the last 18 years that Carleton has collected multiple All-Region accolades.

Carleton went 12-5-3 overall and extended its  conference record by qualifying for a 17th consecutive trip to the MIAC Playoffs, where the Knights defeated Bethel in the first round, 5-2, before falling to No. 4-ranked Gustavus Adolphus, 3-2, in the semifinals.

Flanagan garnered All-Region recognition for the first time. He paced the Knights with 12 goals on the season, tied for ninth most among players across the region. He added six assists—two of which came on game-winning goals—for a team-best 30 points, ranking 11th in the region and the fifth-highest single-season total in program history.

Flanagan averaged 0.60 goals per game in 2024 to rank 16th in the region, and his 1.50 points per game tied for 13th in the region. He totaled 26 goals in his career, tied for fourth in team history, while ranking sixth with 65 points over his four seasons.

Priem plays primarily as a defensive midfielder but still registered five goals to rank third on the Knights and added five assists. He delivered in the clutch, registering a trio of game-winning goals to tie for 14th in the region while contributing assists on three other game winners. Priem has totaled 14 goals and 13 assists over his first three seasons with the Knights.

His play helped Carleton post a .900 goals against average, ranking fourth-best in the region this season. The Knights' clean style of play resulted in only 7.2 fouls per game—the 12th-lowest figure in NCAA Division III—and a region-low 15 yellow cards.
