NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- In its final home dual meet of the season, the Carleton College women's swimming & diving team earned a 174-126 victory over Gustavus Adolphus College. This was the Knights' first dual meet win over the Gusties in six years.
 
Carleton won 9 of the 16 events, including both the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relays. Grace Hou was the Knights' lone double individual winner, as she prevailed in both the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly.
 
"Today was a great day of racing and diving by both of our teams," said Carleton head coach Andy Clark. "Going against two very strong Gustavus teams, we knew we would need big efforts and performances from every team member to have a chance at winning. The women had an incredible meet, and it was a huge team achievement to beat Gustavus. For the men, even though we didn't come out with a victory, races were extremely close, and the guys battled the entire way making the meet one of the closest we have had against Gustavus in years."  
 
In the 200-yard medley relay, the quartet of Hou, Emma Yao, Zoe Morton, and Daya Tucker posted a winning time of 1:51.62.
 
Hou and Lily Wong posted a 1-2 finish in the 100-yard backstroke, with the former reaching the wall at 1:01.36 and the latter at 1:02.35. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Yao pathed the way to a first-place finish with a time of 1:09.97.
 
The first diving session saw Hailey Westrup achieve a top score of 247.70, while Brenna Russell followed with a strong second-place showing at 236.00 points.
 
Wong captured top honors in the 200-yard backstroke. She led the pack with a finishing time of 2:16.66. Hou was right behind, securing a solid second place with a time of 2:17.20.
 
Hou later secured her second event victory of the evening, clocking a time of 1:02.69 in the 100-yard butterfly. That performance helped Carleton win the final four events of the meet.

In 3-meter diving, Russell clinched first place with a score of 251.55. Westrup also performed notably, earning a solid third place with a score of 225.05.
 
Jenna Drummond came from behind to prevail in the 200-yard IM as she reached the wall at 2:16.94.
 
Carleton capped the meet and closed out the team victory with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Morton, Yao, Eleanor Hebard, and Tucker claimed victory with a time of 1:41.66.

Carleton will travel to Collegeville, Minn., to face the College of Saint Benedict in a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 20.
