PRESOTT, Wis. – The No. 5-ranked Carleton College women's cross country sent a small contingent to compete in the UW-River Falls River Town Twilight at Prescott (Wis.) High School.
Alice Cutter pulled away from the field and captured her first collegiate win, besting the 7-runner field by more than a minute
Carleton had only four runners entered in the event and were not eligible for a team score. The Knights held out many of their top runners, as Cutter was the lone racer who also compete last Friday at the University of Eastern Washington meet.
"Alice was on a mission!" said Carleton head coach
Donna Ricks.
Cutter got off the starting line quickly and ran out front the entire race, registering a winning time of 23:47.3.
Maggie Votruba was the next Knight across the finish line, covering the six-kilometer distance in 25:25.5, which was good for 20th place overall.
Ella Visconti placed 29th at 26:44.5.
Olivia Carbo wrapped up the Carleton entries by clocking a time of 28:46.2.
Regionally-ranked UW-Stout and UW-Whitewater finished 1-2 in the team standings with 15 and 52 points, respectively.

Carleton will host the Running of the Cows on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Bill Huyck Championship Cross Country Course.
