NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Three divers from the Carleton College swimming & diving teams competed at the Northfield Diving Invite on Tuesday, their final competition ahead of next week's MIAC Championships.
On the 1-meter board,
Brenna Russell (Jr./Andover, Minn./Andover) posted her second qualifying score of the season, securing a spot in the NCAA Regionals competition later this month. She finished in second place with 419.35 points during the 11-dive portion of the meet.
Katya Sjaastad (So./St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) competed in her first 11-dive meet and posted a score of 270.10. She will continue preparations for the MIAC meet.
On the men's side,
Hans Anderson (Fy./Watertown, Minn./Watertown Mayer) had the top 6-dive score on the 1-meter board (242.80). He notched his first qualifying mark of the season with an 11-dive score of 442.85 on the 3-meter board. Anderson will need to post a qualifying mark on either board at the MIAC Championships in order to extend his season and advance to the regional competition on Feb. 24-25 at the University of Chicago.
