MINNEAPOLIS — The 2023 MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships opened with an abbreviated session on Wednesday evening. On the women's side, there were only two events, the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay. Carleton College sits eighth out of nine teams after the first of four days of competition at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
 
Maddie Damberg-Ott (Sr./London, Great Britain/Channing School), Elizabeth Chatard (So./San Anselmo, Calif./Sir Francis Drake), Isabelle Riley (So./Singapore/Singapore American School), and Zoe Morton (Fy./Chicago, Ill./Univ. of Chicago Laboratory School) earned All-MIAC honorable mention by placing fourth with season-best time of 1:49.01.
 
Unfortunately, the Knights earned no points in the 800-yard freestyle after their entry was disqualified.

The remaining three days of the conference meet will feature prelims each morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by finals starting at 6:30 p.m.
 
Thursday's schedule features the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle, plus the 400-yard medley relay and the women's 3-mter diving competition.
