NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College women's swimming & diving team dropped a close dual meet to visiting Macalester College by a 149.5-146.5 tally. The team result came down to the wire in the day's final event. The Knights won eight events on the day, with Zoe Morton figuring in four of those triumphs (two individual, two relay).
 
Carleton started the meet with the victory in the 200-yard medley relay. Grace Hou, Emma Yao, Morton, and Daya Tucker combined on a time of 1:50.79.
 
Hou, Lily Wong, and Stephanie Baranov finished 1-2-3 in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:0.95, 1:03.63, and 1:03.94, respectively.
 
Yao was first to the wall in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a winning time of 1:06.91.
 
Morton and Tucker went 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 25:44 and 25.70, respectively.
 
Morton and Macalester's Jocelyn Radke tied for the victory in the 100-yard freestyle as both touched the wall at 56.29.
 
Hailey Westrup won both diving competitions. She scored 250.65 on the 1-meter board and was tops at the 3-meter height with her score of 245.45.
 
The Knights trailed 143.5-135.5 heading into the day's final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay. Carleton's top entry of Morton, Yao, Eleanor Hubard, and Tucker finished first at 1:41.63 to earn the home team 11 points. Macalester's top relay was second, netting the Scots four points to bring the score to 147.5-146.5 in favor of the visitors. The final two points would go to the third relay to finish, and Macalester's B entry edged Carleton's B entry by less than a second.

Carleton will take part in the 18th annual Ted Mullin "Hour of Power for Sarcoma Research" Relay Event at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The Knights will swim at Thorpe Pool and be joined by teams across the country in this special event.
