NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College women's tennis team concluded the fall portion of the schedule with a 9-0 triumph over College of St. Scholastica.
Carleton (3-0, 3-0 MIAC) received wins in both singles and doubles from
Mary Hose,
Miriam Shteyman,
Kiley Pickens,
Kat Smiricinschi,
Ryann Witter, and
Piper Brown.
Hose and Witter combined on an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, with Shteyman and Smiricinschi prevailing by the identical score at the second slot. Pickens and Brown collected an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
Upon moving to singles, the Knights made quick work of the Saints (0-1, 0-1 MIAC).
Brown shutout her opponent at No. 6 singles by a 6-0, 6-0 tally. Newcomers Pickens and Smiricinschi captured 6-1, 6-2 victories at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, while Hose and Shteyman earned 6-0, 6-2 wins at the top two spots in the lineup. Witter completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 outcome at No. 5 singles.
