ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College women's swimming & diving team opened the 2023-24 season with a team victory at the Hamline Relays. The Knights won four of eight swimming events and placed second in the other four races.
Carleton totaled 670 points, narrowly edging rival St. Olaf (668 points). Host Hamline University was third at 150 points, with Augsburg University totaling 68 points.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the quartet of
Grace Hou,
Emma Yao,
Isabelle Riley, and
Zoe Morton posted a winning time of 1:51.81.
The 4x100 IM relay saw Yao,
Stephanie Baranov, Morton, and Hou combine on a first-place time of 4:14.25.
In the 6x50-yard (50-50-100-100 back) relay,
Lily Wong,
Ava Shaker, and Baranov were first to touch the wall at 3:03.14, while the 6x50-yard (50-50-100-100 breast) relay saw
Bryn Ashland,
Jenna Drummond, and
Aubrey Tran cover the distance first with a time of 3:29.03.
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton and St. Olaf will co-host the Cows, Colleges & Contentment Classic on Saturday, Oct. 28. Swimming events will be held at Northfield Middle School, while diving will take place at Carleton's Thorpe Pool.
