Knight duo wraps up season at NCAA Diving Regionals

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Carleton College's Kapani Kirkland (Sr./Mendota Heights, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) and Brenna Russell (So./Andover, Minn./Andover) competed on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at the NCAA Diving Regionals hosted by Calvin College.
 
This was Kirkland's third trip to the regional meet, while Russell was making her debut at the event.
 
Russell finished 13th out of 26 divers on the 1-meter board with a score of 360.90. Kirkland placed 15th with 344.95 points.
 
In the 3-meter competition, Kirkland took 11th out of 24 divers at 379.85, her highest score for the higher board in her three trips to Regionals. Russell scored 311.20 to finish 23rd.
 
Elizabeth Crown of the University of Chicago won the 1-meter competition with 423.85 points. She was edged for the top spot on the higher board by Emma Hellmann of Wittenberg University (448.50 points) by only 2.3 points.
