Bethel hands Knights two losses

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Vince Cone's (Jr./New York, N.Y./Trinity School NYC) first career home run was the top highlight for the Carleton College baseball team on Thursday at Bethel. The Knights lost 8-6 in the conclusion of their April 5 game before dropping a regularly-scheduled contest 14-3 (7 inn.)

HALTED GAME RECAP
This contest was stopped back on April 5 due to darkness with Bethel leading 8-6 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning.

Carleton got the tying runs aboard in its final turn at bat, but Blake Williams came out of the Royal bullpen and got a flyout, strikeout, and groundout to close out the victory.

FULL GAME RECAP
Bethel (15-7, 9-3 MIAC) scored in five of its seven turns at bat, including three runs in the third inning, four in the fourth, and five more in the seventh to end the game. Five Royals finished with multi-hit efforts.

Six different Knights had hits in the contest, but Carleton was kept off the scoreboard until the top of the seventh. Blake Anderson (Sr./Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria) and Cayten Gardner (Jr./Claremont, Calif./Claremont) collected back-to-back singles. With two out, Cone jumped on a 3-1 offering and belted it off the scoreboard beyond the left-field wall.
