CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – On the heals of a thrilling five-set victory Friday evening over tournament host Coe College, the Carleton Volleyball team earned one more win over Ripon College Saturday afternoon to finish the weekend with a 2-1 ledger. The Knights sandwiched the two victories with a three-set loss to Loras College Saturday morning.

Carleton started the weekend off with a bang in their win over the Kohawks Friday evening, as the Knights prevailed in five sets, 25-19, 24-26, 25-21, 16-25, 15-13.
Grace Leuchtenberger (Jr./Newton, Mass./Newton South) led the Carleton offensive attack with 11 kills and a .300 hitting percentage, while
Olivia Powell (Sr./Palos Verdes, Calif./Chadwick) and
Jancyn Appel (Fy./Kansas City, Mo./Pembroke Hill) added 10 kills and three blocks apiece.
Inger Shelton (So./San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) recorded 33 assists and a season-best 17 digs, while
Teegan Carlson (Jr./Benton City, Wash./Kiona-Benton City) tallied 17 digs.
After opening Saturday with a three-set loss to Loras, who is currently receiving votes in the AVCA National Top 25 poll, Carleton finished off the weekend with a four-set win over Ripon College (24-26, 25-18, 25-21, 25-19).

Inger Shelton tallied 19 assists and 10 digs, but the Knights could not overcome a strong offensive day from the Duhawks. Appel led Carleton with six kills, while
Abby Loe (Jr./Apple Valley, Minn.) added five kills.
RIPON RECAP
The Carleton offensive was on full display versus Ripon, as the Knights hit .400 as a team with 51 kills. Carleton also claimed a 18.5-2 advantage in blocks, while the Knights also recorded seven aces in the match.
Appel tallied a career-best 19 kills and hit .472 to lead the Carleton offensive attack, while Loe chipped in with 11 kills and 10 digs.
Olivia Powell added eight kills and seven blocks, while
Leuchtenberger claimed nine kills while hitting .571 for the match.
Shelton led all participants with 39 assists and three aces.
The Knights will jump back into league play this Wednesday, when they travel to Minneapolis to face Augsburg University at 7 p.m.
