Same story, different day: Knights dominate but ties Bethel

Northfield, Minn. -- In a game that essentially summed up its entire season, the Carleton College women's soccer team outshot visiting Bethel University 22-8 and put 15 of those 22 shots on net, but the Knights couldn't break through in drawing with the Royals, 0-0.

The Knights (3-7-2, 3-5-1 MIAC) simply dominated the Royals (5-8-1, 0-7-1 MIAC), but couldn't break through on Royal keeper Charli Sorenson, who made 15 saves in keeping her squad in the game. Yusi He (Fy./South Padena, Calif.) notched her fourth shutout in six starts this season, but she only had to make a trio of saves in the match.

The Carleton offense was well balanced as six different players notched three shots each. The Knights were very active early, putting four shots on goal in the game's first 10 minutes. Carleton put the pressure on in both overtimes, getting four shots away in the first 10-minute period and two more, both on net, in the second overtime period.

The Knights return to action in a rare Monday match, as they host Grinnell College (Iowa) at 2 p.m. at Bell Field. The game will be broadcast live on Knights Online.
